{Happily Ever After} A Year Ago Today...

Michael asked me to marry him.

I said yes, of course.... he was the one my soul loves; the one God made just for me and my girls.

It was kind of surprising... we had talked about getting married since early in the game, but some things had to dealt with first.

They were dealt with.

But still, when he showed up at my apartment with a ring, I was surprised it was so soon. He brought two rings, actually: his Aunt Orphah's ring, and his grandmother's ring. He wanted me to choose, but I didn't want to choose. Aunt Orphah's ring fit me, but I had never met her; Grandma's ring was too big, but she had been my friend and I loved her.

So we let the girls decide. They naturally chose the blingier of the two... Grandma's.

So with my girls right there, Michael asked me if I'd let him spend the rest of his life making me happy, and gave me Grandma's wedding ring.

(I love those words, and I love that my girls got to be right there to hear them).

We got married three weeks later, on Christmas Eve.

And it's been the best year of my life.

Congratulations, Melissa! On having the man of your dreams and a new babe. And please forgive me for being so late to swoon over Susannah. I had some issues with leaving comments, and well, time has gotten away from me. Anyway, she is PREC-IOUS!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her many expressions in her three-week post. She just simply rocks! And Happy Belated Birthday to Katie Beth! I hope she had a fantastic birthday! XOXO~Cindi
