OK, I don’t know what happened with that last post, except that 1) I’m crazy, and/or 2) I’m crazy.
That pretty much sums it up.
If you ever want to know why in the heck I did something, there’s your answer.
So… now for the decorating progress.
So far I have the room mostly painted; two coats above the chair rail, and two coats below the chair rail. Actually, in these pictures I only have a partial coat of green above the chair rail, and that blue stripe you see is painters’ tape. I’ve never mastered the skill of painting a straight line without it…. its never as easy as they make it look on HGTV.
Yeah, its bright, but not fall-out-on-the-floor-and-have-a-seizure bright.
At least I don’t think its that bright….but then again I’m not finished yet. I always go for maximum stimulation from paint colors, and if they cause seizures in some folks, then so be it.
At least its not beige….
Its the same color pink (below the chair rail) that KB’s old room has been painted for the past 4 years: I can’t help it, I found a color I loved and wanted to stick with it. (We are using the same bedding, after all.)
I went ahead and moved the beds into the room, and the paint colors are a dead-on match for the Marshall’s quilts! And really, having white furniture makes the paint not so
I mentioned I wasn’t through with the paint job… that’s because I plan to paint wide (like 12″) vertical stripes above the chair rail in the next-darker shade of green, Laura Ashley Apple 4 (LA1004).
I say plan to, because painting vertical stripes involves measuring. And counting. And precision.
And though it may come as a huge shock to those who know me well, numbers, counting, and measuring just aren’t my calling in life.
I live in the right-brained world of ideas and fairy tales and leave anything involving numbers to a certain Type A beige-loving, number-calculating individual who lives here with me.
But he’s refusing to ever paint anything ever, ever again, so its all up to me.
We’ll see how it turns out.
And my drapes are finished, but I haven’t picked them up yet. They’re … well, I’ll let the pattern be a surprise and just say they’ll add a whole new level of circus chic to the apple-and-hot-pink room and I can’t wait to see it all looks.
If I’m not falling out on the floor having a seizure or something.
That would totally put a damper on my schedule.
