So, winter hit us hard last night with all its fury. It was so thrilling and exciting! We had sleet, then some freezing rain, maybe some snow flurries, and by morning our yard was barely recognizeable, and the kids didn’t start school until 10:00 this morning on account of the dangerous conditions.
I LOVE THIS WEATHER (while it lasts). The grass is crunchy! Everything is so beautiful!! And then there’s the snuggling under a blanket on the couch in front of a roaring fire!
But I will only love it because it will all be thawed by noon… I am NOT trying to live with all this frigid cold more than three days a year.
Ice. Such a rare sight around here.
The icicles hanging from the grill
My rocking chair.
More icy leaves. I miss them already.
Even our trashcan looks pretty in this weather!
Our battered, leaning mailbox? Even that looks beautiful in a shabby chic way. (But it’s still in the top 10 of projects to replace/redo in spring because as it turns out nobody really wants a shabby chic mailbox.)
SNOW! And yes, those are my poinsettias still on my porch because I’m staring a new thing where you leave them out until St. Patrick’s Day. Stop making a big deal out of it. Gosh.
