A Master of Stealth and Cunning.

Melissa Beene Ford/ Annie

Today, I played hide & seek with Annie.

I wonder if, back in the day when I was toiling over a Bachelor’s Degree, planning on a Master’s Degree, and contemplating going on for a Ph.D., if you had told me that one day, when I grew up, one of my favorite things to do would be to play hide & seek with a 3-year-old, if I would have laughed out loud?

I was pretty sure of my plans back then.

Two of those degrees I thought for sure I needed, never materialized.

And I don’t care.

Somewhere along the line my priorities changed.

It is pretty ridiculous how much fun I have playing hide and seek.

Its also ridiculous that she doesn’t quite grasp the concept and every time she hides, she tells me in advance where she’s going to go.

“I goin’ to go hide in da curtains, momma, and you come find me….”

But even if she didn’t let on to her whereabouts, I think I might be able to locate her.

Just maybe.

Caleb does the EXACT same thing…tells me where he’s going to hide, then giggles the entire time he is there…maybe we should let the 3 yr olds play hide and seek together…what a video that would be!

I love that her shoe is on the wrong foot! So cute. Garrison can’t quite get his shoes on the right feet, either!!

I LOVE this! When we play, I’ll say, "I wonder where Rachie is???", and she’ll reply, "I’m in HERE, Mommy!" SO cute!

The best part…is that you appreciate this little slice of her childhood! They are like tiny treasures in your pocket.
