This past Saturday, KB and her BFF had a lemonade stand in our front yard.
This was the final weekend of the Azalea Trail, and also the weekend of the annual Tour of Homes, so they were able to make a profit off of all the busloads of tourists cruising down our street.
If there’s one lesson I want my kids to learn in life, its how to make a profit off of a busload of tourists.
Just kidding. 😉
With a tiny little bit of persuasion from the moms, the girls decided they would donate 100% of their profits to their classroom.
Their wonderful teacher, Mrs. O, has been teaching the kids about the environment and taking care of the Earth and wants this year-long teaching to culminate with a field trip to see the movie ‘Earth’ that is coming out on Earth Day.
The trouble is, there was no more money in the budget for this field trip, and it will cost approximately $200 per class to get to go (they have to pay for school bus rental in addition to the movie ticket).
In five hours of lemonade-peddling, our girls raised….(drum roll please)….
$159.12.
Almost enough for the whole class to get to go to the movies.
I am so proud of their selflessness and generosity. 🙂
And THAT really is a lesson I want my kids to learn in life.
More pictures to come…
Wow! That IS a lot of money for lemonade. Great job girls!

Azaleas….sigh…SO wanted them to be already established in my new front yard but, alas, nothing but monkey grass and Asian Jasmine. BLAH.
WOW! My kids are lucky to make $.50 in an hour or two.
