Get ready to see lots more Lake Fork pictures. Since we’ve recently rediscovered how great it is, not to mention budget-friendly for people who, say, might have spent every last penny they owned remodeling an old house, we plan to be here often.
And what’s so sad is that its been here all along……
…but somehow, we’ve forgotten to take advantage of it! This is what a sunset looks like from our deck. From a cell-phone camera. If it looks like this from the lens of my cell phone camera, just imagine being there in person…..
I sat and stared and pretended I was in Hawaii. I’ll let you in on a secret…..Hawaii has nothing on Lake Fork. Save your airfare.
There is something so soothing and calming and just downright healthy about sitting and listening to the sounds of God’s creation. Even if its only Quitman, Texas, and not Maui.
I finally understand why hubby likes to fish so much! For the first time in my life, I really, truly, enjoyed fishing. Fishing! Me! Its true…. It was so incredibly peaceful and relaxing. I’m hooked. Ha! Get it? Hooked?
Nevermind.
Annie experienced her first fishing trip this past weekend.
Big sis, well, she’s a seasoned fisherman, and she’s not even shy about putting a worm on a hook.
But it was all new to Annie. And she wasn’t too excited about it. She wanted to sit in the driver’s seat so she could have access to all the buttons and toggle switches. Especially that red button that raises and lowers the boat motor. And then she got in trouble, let everyone within 6.2 miles know that she was being discriminated against, and put her face in the seat.
And on a TOTALLY UNRELATED note, we had electrical trouble and lost power to the depth finder. I’m sure it had nothing to do with this little picture of innocence.
She wanted to fish, all right, but only when Sissy was holding the Barbie fishing pole. Then, coincidentally, that was the fishing pole she wanted to hold, and now.
Big sis made my heart melt by patiently sharing her Barbie fishing pole with her bratty precious 3-year-old baby sister, showing love to the Tasmanian Devil our sweet little Annie, and giving me hope that at least ONE of my children will turn out to be selfless and generous…..but even if she hadn’t….my heart would have still melted because of these freckles. Have I ever mentioned how much I love these freckles?
We really only own one child’s fishing pole, so the girls took turns using it. And I let KB use my professional fishing pole with the Zebco 33 reel of champions.(Just trying to impress you with my extensive knowledge of fishing terminology.) So, we promised a new Hannah Montana fishing pole to whomever caught the first fish. Partly to keep certain people interested in fishing and away. from. the. red. buttons.
The ‘getting her interested in fishing’ part didn’t work. In case you were wondering.
Hope hubby enjoys his new Hannah Montana fishing pole……
Looks like a little slice of heaven. That deck…how nice to sit and talk at night! I'm not a fishing kind of girl, but if that boat can pull a tube or wake board, count me in! LOVE the lake! 🙂
Don't say, 'even if it's only texas'!
It is TRULY a slice of heaven. And to think I used to never want to go because it smelled like fish and there was NOTHING TO DO! Now, I crave moments of 'nothing to do.' They are few and far between! And I never thought I'd enjoy fishing either!
Thanks for the compliment! 🙂 I made my header on a site called scrapblog.com. It is pretty quick to learn…there is a video tutorial that you can watch to help you get started. I got the idea to do it from "Buzzings of a Queen Bee", another one of the blogs that I read. She is on my blog list, and she made her header there too. Hope that helps! 🙂
Check out my blog…I've got a little somethin' for ya!
