Our sweet Susannah Joy was ELEVEN MONTHS old yesterday.
Our sweet blue-eyed baby.
Or are they brown? Green? Hazel? I think they change every day…
She’s becoming a little PERSON. With a PERSONALITY.
This is one cute new thing she does… when she’s sleepy, she gathers up the front of her clothes into her fist and pulls it up to her nose like a ‘blanky’ while she sucks her thumb.
She LOVES this walker I bought from a friend on Facebook. She feels invincible… but her ‘wheels’ are a blessing and a curse. Because now she can reach the trashcan…
Oh, the places these feet will go…
When she’s not in her walker, she can get around the house quite well on her belly. Not exactly crawling on her knees yet, but she can get anywhere she wants to go in the blink of an eye. I’m trying to get in the habit of keeping bathroom doors closed…
She’s a happy little thing. She smiles and laughs a LOT… except, of course, when I’m telling her ‘no’ about getting into the trashcan.
In which case she yells right back at me, “NANANANANANANANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” while waving her arms at me. Her other words are Dada and Mama. Mostly Dada, of course.
She waves ‘bye bye’ to everyone we pass.
She makes eyes at grocery store cashiers.
But here, she’s just clapping… probably because there’s food, and because she’s forgotten about the trashcan for now. Oh, and she has three teeth on the bottom, and two more coming in on top. Teeth coming in means LOTS of drool, and some sleepless nights the last week or so. Big sigh. I won’t complain though, since she’s normally such a great sleeper.
She’s learned some sign language. Her favorite is ‘more‘ because that means more FOOD. And she does love food… to be as LITTLE as she is, girl can EAT!
She’s learned to ‘fake cough.’ I’m pretty sure she inherited her dad’s manipulation gene, and the fake cough is just one element of that. It is GREATLY entertaining to her two big sisters.
She’s our gift from God and has made our family complete!
An update on the seizure situation: Praise the Lord, there has been NO seizure activity since the first two. We do have an appointment with a pediatric neurologist in October, but as of now all of her lab results have come back perfectly normal, ruling out epilepsy or tumors. Thank you for all of you who have prayed!
