{Baby Love} Four Months.

Melissa Beene Ford/ Susannah

Baby Susie Joy is four months old today! It’s been a big month for her.

Last Sunday, we attended the Parent Commitment Service at church, and made public our commitment to raise her in the wisdom and knowledge of the Lord, and to teach her to love Jesus with all of her heart and to faithfully serve Him. She slept through the service. This was Annie’s baby dedication dress, and the bracelet was made by her aunt.

This month, Susie’s learned to roll that bottom lip out when she’s not 100% happy. It’s rare, but we’ll see the pouty lip if we’re interfering with her scheduled nap time…

And two minutes later…

She’s a thumb-sucker. I tried and tried to have a pacifier baby this time after not-so-fond memories of trying to break two thumb habits, but she’s not havin’ it. Like the rest of my family, she prefers the real deal to silicone.

Like her mama, she hates having anything on her feet…

Still the happiest girl EVER. This was at Tuesday morning Bible study at church…

She’s gotten a lot snugglier lately. She usually wants to be held with her back to me, so she can see the room, but lately… I’ve had the joy of holding her while she sleeps. I. Love. That.

She LOVES the changing table. We can’t figure out what it is, but something about the changing table makes her light up.

She’s learned to scoot on her back. She WAS on a blanket on the floor right before I took this picture, and worked her way completely off of it. She’ll be scooting into her big sisters’ rooms and chewing on their toys in NO time.

She’s also learned to roll from her front to her back. The first time was on my 40th birthday, and I know because I took a picture of everything I did that day. I started her out like this at nap time…

And when I went to get her, she was like this. I wish I had a better picture, dangit! Look how thrilled she was!

Did I mention that she’s happy? Oh, how I love her…

Every new outfit deserves a picture. This is her in her Rabbit Moon track suit…. does she look like a Tennenbaum? 🙂

And her coat.

Susannah Joy, you’re truly my joy and my treasure just like your two big sisters. Oh, how blessed we are to have you! Thank you Lord…

I was a thumb-sucker, too, Susie. AND if no one else in your family is a lefty, let me know if you need some help with that later. 😉 Melissa, she's a doll!
