I’m a little burned out on this blog thing.
Its not the blog’s fault… its just that there’s not much going on that I really want to share with the public.
‘Public’ being the three readers I have left since I stopped updating this dumb blog.
I just don’t want to talk about it. Its been stressful for me and not much fun, these past six months or so, and I don’t want to talk about it.
So I just don’t. Until Blogher sends me the email letting me know that I haven’t updated my blog in two weeks so they’re pulling my ads until I get my stuff together.
And I don’t want them to pull my ads; heck, I need the .06 a month I earn in revenue from those things!! And I feel sure I’ll be back in narcississtic mode, all too eager to talk at length about myself, at some point in the future when things are looking up for me. I have hopes that things will look up at some point in the future. And I’ll be back. But for now I’m all about the bare minimum in every area of life, including this blog.
Today I got the email, and that was my cue… must update the blog. So here it is: how I spent my Cinco de Mayo. Fascinating stuff.
This morning started out with a jog. Jogging is my stress-reliever of choice. Mainly because its a dry county and liquor is too much trouble to obtain, and cigarettes are too dadgum expensive. So I jog. And Annie comes along for the ride, and falls asleep every time. Its a hard life for her.
At noon, Katie participated in a Cinco de Mayo performance by the Caldwell Second Graders at the Andrews Center. They sang some songs and did a Mexican Hat Dance.
And my child ducked and hid behind the kids in front of her to prevent me from taking pictures of her.
In case you wondered why I have zillions of pictures of Annie (aka ‘the ham’) on this blog and less than twelve pictures of her.
But I managed to get this one…. I did not manage to get a smile, but I did get a picture…
Of course, she’ll smile when friends are in the picture too.
If you’re wondering why her friend is making this face, take a look at her back… KB pinched her.
KB is not always the angelic child you think she is…
After the performance, Jennifer, Annie and I went to Casa Ole.
To continue with the Mexican celebration.
Because we’re patriotic like that.
Annie has this obsession with my friend Jennifer. Annie and Jennifer are, like, BFFs. Annie loves her some Mrs. Jennifer. Annie wants to sit beside her at restaurants (and not me) and share her food and her drinks (and not mine). And climb into her lap (and not mine).
I’m sure Mrs. Jennifer could do without all this display of affection, but not Annie. This evening, Jennifer dropped KB off at our house, and Annie cried (yes. cried.) because she didn’t get to see Mrs. Jennifer. After we spent 75% of our day with Mrs. Jennifer.
Why??? I don’t know!! I think maybe Jennifer is giving her crack.
Or maybe she’s just really sweet and likeable.
So that was our Cinco de Mayo.
What else is going on… ?
Well, the house is for sale. And ONE OF YOU needs to please bring me a contract.
If for no other reason than to help me out of this funk I’m in so I can once again have something fun to talk about on this blog.
Because I know you’ve been missing me.
*tap tap* Is this thing on??
Well, ok… my mom misses my blog posts, if no one else does, and that’s enough.
Really, it is.
