If you haven’t seen the ‘before’ pictures showing the loveliness of our kitchen before we remodeled it, I’ll give you a moment to click that link and check it out. Go ahead…
You can’t fully appreciate the ‘after’ until you’ve seen the ‘before.’
Actually, those pictures were from before we even bought the house…..lest you think all the *stuff* in these pictures belongs to me, well, it doesn’t…..that was all the *decorating style* of the previous owner. 😉
Anyway, I just realized that I never posted ‘after’ pictures! At least, I don’t think I did…..
I know my local friends have all seen my kitchen, but for all you internet-friends, here are the ‘after’ pictures!
The light fixture over the sink came from Schoolhouse Electric out of Portland, Oregon…I discovered them in the back of a magazine. If you’re into vintage style, check them out! I love their selection.
I love the pale blue ceiling, and a cold-water faucet over the cooktop is a handy thing to have….
Remember that old fireplace? We tore it out and put french doors in its place, opening onto the deck we had built.
Tons of storage in the window seat!
Once upon a time, we used to watch tv while we ate breakfast.
There was one thing I really did like about the ‘before’ kitchen…..this light fixture:
I kept all the old fixtures we took out of this house, including this one. The wiring is ancient, cloth-covered, and fraying….it needs to be professionally rewired….which I haven’t had the time or funds or ? to have done….but it actually cleaned up very well, and the milk-glass is in perfect condition.
Someone told me it was once an oil-burning fixture and was wired for electricity later. Meaning its old.
But it may just find its way back to its rightful home over my kitchen table in the years to come….
What a beautiful kitchen! Love everything about it. It looks very similar to the one that we have designed for the house we are planning to build.
I am jealous at how empty your counters are! You've inspired me to work on mine today and get them cleared off.
Hope you have a great Thursday!
Saw you on Ree's site and thought you might be interested in this.

Come on over and enter to win huge prizes!! Seriously, there are over 25 prize packages and the prizes are awesome!!

Although I am still happily accepting (and pushily begging) for donated prizes for my fundraiser, I decided to get the ball rolling.

http://www.firstgiving.com/hallietwomey<br
Ohhhhh, I love it so much. You guys are so talented.. I wish we were that far along.
Oh my, what a fabulous transformation! Everything just looks so clean and tidy unlike the mess before LOL. Fabulous job!
Thanks for the mention! The before pictures are scary, I don't blame you for not wanting to cook. The after pictures are divine! Love the subway tile, the vintage light fittings, the countertops, the tap over the stove…everything!
I LOVE your kitchen {huge sigh of jealousy}.
