I’ve mentioned before my love/hate relationship with breakfast, and how I’m always on the lookout for quick (yet healthy) things to feed my kids on frenzied mornings.
Not that we have those much, what with me being so efficient and task-oriented and all.
We do smoothies a lot… with Greek yogurt to start my kids off with some really good protein and good bugs that help their little digestive systems, fruit (ideally organic), and sometimes, when I’m feeling really stealthy and bold, I toss in a scoop of Superfood powder which adds a TON of great nutrients.
But only when I make blueberry smoothies, because the blue hides the green of the Superfood, and only when I’m feeling really, really brave…. because if the kids knew that was in there, they’d…. they’d….
I shudder to think of what they might do.
I use Tupperware Mickey Mouse popsicle molds, but you don’t have to be that fancy.
My kids don't do cold in the morning very well …they suffer through it looking like they are being very torchered. During school year I give them whatever smoothy I am going to give them in the afternoon when they have more room in their bellies and are more happy to have it. I am dreading the school days to come becuase we are on this new diet and the kids are always hungry after
Those smoothies sound good! I give you credit. You are a good mom to try to actually INCREASE your children's energy with a superfood.
wow, Mammy would be sooooo proud! 😉
Oops I just licked my computer screen. 🙂
what a great mom you are 🙂 such a great idea to use the leftovers as healthy popsicles.

im training for a half marathon, and smoothies are my best friend these days. looks like now i have somethin' to spice up my mango & orange ol' standby.
