I was doing some cleaning this morning and came across Annie’s list of what you should do: Love each other. Be nice to your friends and your family. Treat each other like you would like to be treated. And that pretty much sums it up. Wouldn’t the world be a better place I’d we all lived like this?

Put Another Dime in the Chipmunk, Baby.
My children have the ability to make me laugh like no one else, even when they’re not trying. Especially when they’re not trying. Sometimes they say the darndest things, perfectly innocently, that are just flat hilarious. And some of their words and phrases have forever altered the Family Vocabulary. Cajun Seasoning, for example, will forevermore be known as Kuh-Juan’ Seasoning because Katie Beth thought the container said Cajuan. She ever-so-innocently…

I’m Not Trying to Brag but My Kids are Super Models.
So, I’m sure by now you’ve seen my kids’ TV commercial. It’s kind of a big deal. It may come as a shock, seeing as how she was such a natural, but this was Susie’s first modeling gig {she’s the babe in the blue smocked dress}, though her older sisters {the two cuties by the lake} are modeling pros… Katie modeled Miss Me jeans for the Cavender’s Boot City website,…

Happy Birthday Annie!
My sweet Annie is seven years old! She’s my hilarious, nutty, quick-witted child who keeps us laughing ALL the time. Plus she pretty much knows all there is to know about the Bible, and about dancing. Her words. She’s brilliant AND talented, is what I’m trying to say. But then she says stuff like “throw upping” when she’s sick and “hicking up” when she has the hiccups, and it’s just…

It Wasn’t My Favorite Tuesday Night.
The diaper explosion should have been my first indication. Scratch that. The text from my kids’ dad asking if I could keep the girls tonight should have been my first indication. Now, I LOVE having my girls at home, but all 650 of my Facebook friends KNOW that Tuesday night is date night. All the experts say date nights are how you keep your marriage happy, and I’m here to…

The Creepy Man at the Mall and Other Brilliant Parenting Practices.
1. So we met the Creepy Man I warn my children about. Ever since they were old enough to leave the stroller and mosey about, I’ve warned them to stay close to me by instilling a fear of the Creepy Man who does bad things to children. He’s out there and we don’t know what he looks like. It’s the Social Worker in me; I’ve seen things and I believe instilling some…

Field Day.
Annie sent me this video from her dad’s phone yesterday, of herself at her school’s Field Day last May (she’s the cute one in the white hat and pigtails). I’ve watched this a dozen times since yesterday and I canNOT stop laughing. I woke up in the middle of the night, even, and thought about this video and laughed out loud until I worried I’d wake the family up. Is…

The First Day of School.
The first day of school went off without a hitch. Without any tears, even. Well, except my own… To be honest… they were almost… EXCITED about it. I think it was mostly the new clothes. New clothes make you look forward to ANY event, even school… especially when you’re rockin’ animal print pants outta control, or Miss Me jeans that Katie got for modeling at Cavender’s. Oh yes. We were hip…

Us These Days.
One of our ‘things’ we like to do is to take the camera and go play photo shoot. Mostly because I can never have enough pictures of my kids, and also because I really want to learn how to take pictures with a real camera and get GOOD at it. It’s on my bucket list. What with the start of school this week, I wanted to make it…

My Life in Cell Phone Pictures.
I’m sort of over this blog at the moment, if you couldn’t tell by my absence. Well, not over it over it, but I’ve been wrapped up in bigger and better things… Like, to start with, I quit my job. This is the sky on my last 30-mile drive home, and every time I look at this picture it makes me sing in my head, “And it’s so wonderful… just to…

Annie in Her Element.
If you know my kids, you know that I have one child (Katie) who you’d think is a student at the Milford Academy the way she vanishes from sight when the camera comes out. And another one (Annie) who knocks people out of the way to position herself in front of cameras. So when my girls had a chance to model recently, Katie followed instructions to the millimeter, being the…
