Annie had her second MRI two weeks ago. So many of you prayed for us all day, and I wanted you to see what was going on with us that day while you were praying. Like her neurosurgeon told us, MRIs will be part of Annie’s life for a long time to come, so this will be just one of many days just like this for Annie. It was a…

Annie’s Diet, Part Two: Juicing.
I’d always heard rumors of people whose cancer was cured by drinking carrot juice. And like everything else good-for-you, I’ve done it haphazardly….let’s face it, there are several steps involved in making fresh carrot juice. And then there’s that infernal juicer to clean…. But I’ve read a few things lately that have renewed my dedication to juicing, even if I have to get up 30 minutes earlier to do it….its…

Annie’s Diet, Part One: Nourishing Traditions.
Tuesday I took Annie to see Dr. Roy Morgan, who is a fabulous Chiroprator in Jacksonville. Only he’s not *JUST* a Chiropractor….he is also a nutritionist, very knowledgeable about natural healing, and a believer in using the food and supplements that God has made to keep the body running as God designed it. Furthermore he’s the father of seven kids, so I could truly sense that he was a man…

Gray’s Anatomy, More Tumor Talk, and a Reason to Wait.
Sorry to disappoint you, but I said GRAY’S, not GREY’S. This is strictly a boring anatomy lesson, not the latest gossip on your favorite Thursday-evening debauchery drama. In case you were wondering where Annie’s tumor is located, its in the 4th Ventricle, which is a fluid-filled space next to her cerebellum….both labeled in this picture I stole from Wikipedia. Click on the picture if you want to see a larger…

The Envelope Please.
As of today, hubby and I have decided what we want to do about Annie. If you remember, we were deciding whether to go ahead and schedule surgery to remove the tumor, OR to watch and wait, doing an MRI every 90 days. After lots of prayer and deliberating, we have decided to delay surgery for a while (indefinitely) and wait and watch the tumor and re-evaluate in 90 days….

The Latest Annie News.
Thursday we took Annie to Children’s Hospital in Dallas for another MRI and then a consultation with her neurosurgeon. As you know, we had prayed for the tumor to be gone when we went back for the MRI. We prayed that God would take it away in a supernatural way that only God Himself could do. And He chose not to do that. For whatever reason, our journey with this…

Meet Our Doctor.
As you pray for Annie over the next couple of weeks, please pray for her neurosurgeon as well. David J. Sacco, M.D. Dr. David Sacco was born in Boston. He graduated from the University of California San Diego with a major in biochemistry/cell biology. He earned his M.D. from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and was invited to join Alpha Omega Alpha, the national honor medical society. He…

21 Days of Fasting and Prayer for Annie.
We have approximately three weeks until Annie’s next MRI. Three weeks to fervently call upon God’s mercy on Annie’s behalf, to fast, and to pray. I’m asking those who feel so led to fast as the Lord leads you to, and to pray for Annie to be healed. We believe that God performs miracles all the time, and we’re going to boldly ask for a miracle for Annie, that God…

In Plain English.
I chat with my cousin, Dr. Kevin, PhD, periodically on Facebook. He read Annie’s first MRI report, that I totally did not ‘get,’ and wanted to tell me what he thought of it. I was so scared of what he might say that I never called him like I was supposed to…. Sometimes Denial Mode is just the place you want to *be* when facing situations like, say, a brain…

How am I Doing?
I have good days. And then I have bad days. Good days, where I have a euphoric kind of calm….*KNOWING* beyond a shadow of a doubt that God will heal my Annie, and this will all be behind us in a matter of weeks. He is the Great Physician, after all. And then I have bad days, where the ‘logical’ part of my brain wants to dwell on the cold…

Encouragement.
Yesterday I got a card in the mail from one of my most precious friends…..a friend who has been a source of Godly wisdom for me throughout more than half of my life. This sweet card brought tears to my eyes and encouraged me so much that I read it over and over throughout the day, and will read it over and over in the difficult days to come. I…
