I was perusing some old emails yesterday and came across these pictures, and I had to laugh.
This was the morning after the 2006 Opening Weekend of Deer Season sleepover with my friend Marla, and our four girls. We set out to make it an annual thing, since we were deer hunting widows together and all, but after we did it once it just, uh, never seemed like a good idea again…
After a fun-filled party on Friday night complete with karaoke and dance contests, cookies, sugar, cool aid and sugar, we slept for approximately five minutes, then got up and took the girls to breakfast at Ihop where more silliness ensued.
It might have had something to do with the sugar overload from the Sugar Chocolate Chip Sugar Pancakes, but I’m not sure…
They were showing us how they slept the night before.
You know, for five minutes.
And I was there. I know exactly how they slept didn’t sleep.
And there you have our First, and Last, Annual Opening Weekend Sleepover memories.
I’m thinking if we ever do it again, we’ll hire a sitter to stay with the girls at one house, and have a grown-up sleepover somewhere else. Like at a hotel. With a spa.
And THAT might get me excited about Deer Season again.
Oh my goodness! Sweet girls……..fun memories, but yes, I like the hotel and spa idea!!!!LOL!!!
