GROSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Melissa Beene Ford/ Uncategorized

Oh. My. GOSH. I’m sitting here typing this with my feet in my chair. This is so disgusting that I can’t believe I’m even going to post this on my blog, but its 10:40 at night and everybody I know is in bed already and I had to tell SOMEBODY!! I’ve been packing/doing laundry/ and otherwise making trips up and down the stairs all night. So on about my 100th trip up tonight, barefooted I might add, look what I happen to spot on our STAIRS, about 1/2 way up:

A HUGE (insert ugly words) EARTHWORM. Sorry, there are some situations where only ugly words will work, like when there’s a foot-long earthworm 1/2 way up the stairs.
What the heck??? And he wasn’t in the entry either, because sometimes when it rains REALLY hard they come in under the front door. Which is disgusting enough in itself but at least when it rains I know to look for them and not run through there barefooted. He was HALFWAY UP THE STAIRS. What was he planning to do?? Crawl up in my bed in the middle of the night?? Snuggle up against my neck as I slept?? I used to think I was somewhat safe, sleeping upstairs. At least from things that crawl, like snakes and worms, for instance. Can they really scale the stairs??? If so, just know you aren’t safe in your bed….. I used to think I was tough, because when we first bought this house I had a roach fall in my hair, and I survived that. But this tops the roach incident for gross-out factor.
I think he sensed my fear and started heading downstairs to wrap himself around my toes. Here he is ootching down the stairs to get me:

Every once in a while I have these fantasies about moving to the country. But perhaps I should just stay right here downtown, since a mere earthworm just made me throw up in my mouth. I know all my country friends are rolling their eyes right now…..

I know I’m going to dream about worms tonight. (shudder).
