In Pursuit of Weirdness.

Melissa Beene Ford/ Uncategorized

OK, I’m just going to go ahead and spill it.

I’ve spent an awful lot of time on the internet lately.

Researching three basic ideas.

Want to know what they are?

I’ll tell you.

Just to confirm, even more, in your mind, that we are weird people.

You really, really want to know what I’ve been reading about on the internet?

Here are your three clues:

Homeschooling.

Homesteading.

Farmhouse house plans.

Just so you’re not surprised when the inevitable happens and we trade our glamourous, sophisticated life in the thriving city for the slower pace of Hooterville.

Or Cushing, Texas. Whatever.

Its coming.

One of these days.

Its coming.

~~~~~
And on a side note, in case you’re tempted to, for whatever reason, Google ‘Hooterville,’ just don’t. Trust me. Lesson learned the hard way… Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go gouge out my eyeballs.
    The Hooterville thing is so funny- I thought about looking it up! It was good to get a chance to visit last night. Today I was driving down Broadway and passed by Ken's pizza and thought of you. Remember when Katie Beth and Emmalie were 2 and we would go to dance and then take them to eat at Ken's? They were so sweet (and still are, just in a more grown up way).
    &quot;In Pursuit of Weirdness&quot;… so are you implying that homeschooling, homesteading and building a farm house are WEIRD things to do??????<br />Well, as a homeschooling mom… I kind of WANT to be offended… but I&#39;m really NOT (snicker). We do LOOK weird to the world, and I&#39;m getting so much more comfortable with that – makes it MUCH more interesting, but also lets me know that
    I hope so too Em!! But &#39;Hooterville&#39; is less than an hour from Tyler so I&#39;ll happily drive over any time you want to meet me!!
