Once upon a time I swore my children would never spend the night away from me.
But then when Katie had a chance to go to Sky Ranch with her lifelong BFF, I couldn’t resist: I ALWAYS wanted to go to camp as a kid.
We had the chance for her to go, and I jumped on it.
I loaded up her zebra-striped suitcase, her blinged-out Justice tank tops, and the black lab stuffed animal she sleeps with every night, and sent her off for a week of horseback riding and other fun camp adventures.
She was a little anxious, but I have a feeling her anxiety wore off about 6 1/2 minutes after we left.
Mine, however, did not.
And Annie isn’t coping well with this only-child situation: she has no idea how to be Annie in this context. Heck, she didn’t even want to watch Shaun the Sheep without Katie here! Its as if its sacrilege to laugh without her…
Praying for Cabin 8 this week and missing my girl terribly…. already!
But I’ll be fine. Really! I will! Just fine!
No, REALLY, I’m fine, ok?!
I hope she's having the BEST week ever!!!
How adorable!!! And if you're going to go to camp, and sleep in "Cabin 8", why not do it in style??? 🙂 You're a great mama for letting her go. I don't know that I'll be THAT great, although, this morning already has me thinking that a week-long, overnight camp doesn't sound all that bad. I just haven't found one for 5,4,3 and 2 year olds yet. 😉
