KiDS KaLeiDoSCoPe PeT FaiR!

Melissa Beene Ford/ Annie+ School

Today was the annual Pet Fair at Kids’ Kaleidoscope, one of the many neat, fun events this little preschool puts on for the kids. The parents can bring their friendly animals for the kids to maul and yank their hair gently pet and love on, and the whole week is spent learning all about pets and making pet-theme crafts and whatnot. We left our 12-year-old Schnauzer at home; I figured she put in her Pet Fair time when Big Sis was a KK student, and deserved to sit this one out at her ripe old age of 84.

Baby A loved it…. when we arrived, she was sharing a touching moment with Jennifer N’s furry little black and white dog, petting and loving on her. She also shared some moments (and slobber) with the big dog to the left of her in this picture. Both of my kids have always had a ‘thing’ for furry creatures and sweetly offer up their faces for all the wet dog kisses they can get.
I forgot my camera (always good for Mom of the Year points, if anybody is keeping track…), so BF snapped these with his blackberry. Of course Baby A wanted *NOTHING*, I repeat *NOTHING* to do with either of her parents at the Pet Fair, so it was a little difficult to capture the touching pet-lovin’ moments for posterity. She saw us and ran straight into Mrs. Teresa’s arms for protection. Heaven forbid she have to LEAVE KK with her PARENTS (parents! sheesh! how embarrassing….) and miss the Pet Fair fun!

This was an attempt at a group photo, Baby A again snuggled up to Mrs. Teresa, buffer between herself and her parents.

Fun times were had by all. All except the poor dogs sweltering on the sidewalk. My 84-year-old schnauzer owes me big time….
