Let the New Blue House Adventure Begin!

Melissa Beene Ford/ Uncategorized

I know what you think.

You think I’m crazy, I know you do.

I didn’t get enough of the whole remodeling nightmare super fun adventure during the last Blue House living hell thrill ride.

I HAD to do it again. Though when I say ‘again,’ believe me… there is NO comparison to the horrendous experience of remodeling a 1928 house. This one’s actually new in comparison. Plus it has electricity, plumbing, and a kitchen….

Something about rotting wood and chippy paint draws me like a moth to a flame. It tells me a house NEEDS me.

I HAVE to take something old and forlorn and give it a makeover. It’s a compulsion I have. It’s the artist in me… The repressed artist in there, dying to do something creative to make the world a prettier place; the artist who’s been searching for a creative outlet since those college art classes decades ago. Or something. Look, I’m just trying to make this sickness compulsion weird quirk I have sound good, ok?

Plus, who could resist a great deal on a home with GREAT bones and lots of square footage that just happens to be chock full of all things 1980s …namely pale yellow carpet and metallic wallpaper. I LOVED the 80s… and metallic wallpaper. I ALWAYS thought metallic wallpaper was the fanciest thing EVER, ever since third grade when my friend Robin’s house had shimmering silvery wallpaper in the half bath…

OK, as it turns out, most of you could probably resist. For sure, everybody I know. Seems everybody but me wants a NEW house… but I’ve never been one to follow the crowd.

So let the fun begin!

Ah, wishing you the best. We have a 70's house and have been in it for 20 years. We are just now getting around to the bathroom remodel. I might kinda miss that 70's blue…or, maybe not. Can't wait to see what you do with your house!

Thank you Karen! You know just about the time you get rid of that 70s blue, it will be back in, right? 😉

I love a good adventure! 😉 Our house is late 70's. Not updated a bit when we moved in 9 years ago…not one single, little thing…so I can relate!
Thanks for sharing at the Project Inspire{d} party! :)
Nancy
