My Life in Cell Phone Pictures. Part 2.

Melissa Beene Ford/ Uncategorized

There are lots of other blogs out there about something meaningful, spiritual, or thought provoking… this isn’t one of them. I’m all about stuff like…

New boots. Annie got these this fall and wants to wear them every day. With nightgowns, skirts, whatever. We’re all about the boots. (And let me just apologize for the sideways picture… I’m having a technological difficulty.)

And while she does still love her some black fur-trimmed boots, she’s moved on to red cowboy boots. Yep, she was that kid at Faulkner Park today, sporting the red cowboy boots with a skirt that didn’t match….

And snowflakes!! I think this winter was record-breaking for East Texas weather… it snowed three times!! On this particular day, I was eating lunch with KB when the flurries started falling. The elementary school cafe is a hub of excitement, for sure, when snow starts to fall!! We got to go out and play in it. You know, for 5 minutes until it stopped and the snow went away, because that’s what it does here in these parts.

See it there? The snow? Right there… in her hair?

Oh, forget it. But aren’t those freckles adorable?

This picture? It was just one of those innocent three-year-old moments. And after the other kind of three-year-old moments we had all day long today, I need to see pictures like this one to be reminded that three is a sweet, innocent age. Once in a while.

This November we added a new American Girl to the family: Caitlyn. She’s a ‘just-like-me’ girl. Only not quite ‘just-like-me.’ But KB thought she was the prettiest girl ever, so here she is! Welcome to the family, Caitlyn.

This past winter, this coat was very important to us. I had to take a picture because the days of cutsie little coats like this one will soon be a thing of the past. (sniff). Pay no attention to the knee-deep leaves in the background.

Snow in East Texas…. second verse. I thought my girls were cute watching it through the window.

KB, who somewhat likes dogs ok, got a few for Christmas from Mimi and Pawpaw. I think she sort of liked them.

Annie got a Barbie with clothes and shoes. However, the phrase “Barbie clothes and shoes” is sort of an oxymoron since everybody knows Barbies are ALWAYS NAKED.

As is every other type of doll in our house. I don’t understand this compulsion little girls have to strip everybody naked and leave them that way. What can you do…

KB got new mittens for Christmas from Aunt Betsy. She loved them so much she wore them to eat lunch in the school cafeteria.

Another one of those cute three-year-old moments. She’s killing time at a Girl Scout meeting by filling in a Mad Libs book with the letter ‘O.’

And another one. She’s destined to be a great artist like her big sister…

OK, and I have to confess: I did this one teeny, tiny thing that was totally, completely frivolous…. just once. I took KB to get a pedicure. And we had SO much fun. And I may or may not have taken her out of school an hour early on a Friday afternoon to go do it.

Have I ever mentioned how proud I am of KB’s legendary artistic talent? Surely by now you recognize these four chicks.

And because I don’t think I’ve ever posted a picture of Sleeping Annie before…

More tomorrow!
