It’s coming at me faster than a speeding locomotive.
My due date, that is…
…the date that this total stranger I’ve never laid eyes on before comes to live with us, ready or not. And I’m ok with that — pretty dang excited, actually — except for the fact that my babies have historically had this total self-centered urge to eat in the middle of the night for the first eight weeks or so.
And that always seems to be my problem somehow. Sigh.
But the good news is that 1. My bag is packed, 2. I have diapers, 3. I have a car seat, 4. I’ve read Babywise, and 5. the crib is all ready to go.
I know I told you that I was going to do the baby’s room all aqua and brown and all elegant and yada yada yada…
But, well, I changed my mind. Variables are my favorite thing in the universe. And committing to one idea kills Variable Melissa.
Plus I just saw this gently used bedding a friend-of-a-friend was selling, and here we are.
We’re using the chest of drawers that both of my babies have used, which was in my mom’s childhood bedroom before that.
It once had these groovy Bakelite knobs on it, but alas, they were all broken and I couldn’t replace them, so Pottery Barn came to the rescue with some not-very-art-deco knobs. They’ll just have to do.
I love love love the colors! This post gives me baby fever…well, except the part about middle of the night feedings. 🙂
