It SNOWED in East Texas! MORE THAN ONCE!
In case my non-Texas friends are wondering why that deserves a blog post, its because we see this weather so rarely in our lifetimes that we don’t know what to do with ourselves.
I got halfway to work, a 30-mile commute, when I decided that rain freezing to my windshield faster than my wipers could clear it off was as good an excuse as any to turn around and go back home. Windshields aren’t really supposed to be opaque, after all.
*Is it considered dangerous to snap pictures with your iPhone while speeding down an ice-covered highway with a windshield too frozen to see through? Just wondering.
Thank YOU, Mother Nature, for my much needed day off!
As fervently as my kids pray for snow, they can tolerate the cold approximately 30 seconds before they decide they’d rather be under a snuggie on the couch watching the Disney channel than outside freezing to death for no good reason. I did manage to get a picture of one child before she ALMOST DIED from the cold…
The other kid made one snow angel and that was ALL the winter weather she needed to experience.
Then she ran inside, shook off six gallons of snow onto my kitchen floor, and proceeded to put on an Emmy-award-winning performance of ALMOST DYING from the cold.
The frozen rain on my car looked really cool even after the snow melted, though its hard to tell from an iPhone picture. And that concludes the winter season in East Texas!
Though you won’t catch me complaining if the weather gets too bad to drive to work again soon…
