The Day God Answered.

Melissa Beene Ford/ Annie+ Katie+ tumor

Thursday, June 16th was a history-making day of miracles for us… most importantly, because God answered our prayers, but you already knew about that.

Only slightly less wondrous? Annie and I were supposed to arrive at Children’s Medical Center at 9:00am, and we got there at……. (drum roll please)…. 8:30am. If you’re doing the math, that would be THIRTY minutes early. Those of you who know me know that was nothing short of miraculous. Thank you very much.

We had been counting down the days until the next MRI, and though she was nervous, she stayed happy.

They took us to a hospital room and Annie played games on Katie’s iPod while we waited.

A nurse came in and showed Annie on a doll exactly what was going to happen with the IV. She didn’t know Annie’s already a pro at this…

Then, she let Annie give the doll an IV. I see a future in medicine (that is, if the singing and dancing doesn’t work out).

Then Annie got an IV (those J-tip things rock), and she was out in a matter of seconds.
They wheeled her back into some double doors for 45 minutes while I prayed and distracted myself with a book, then she was back.
Even in her drunken stupor, she was able to locate her thumb. The good one that tastes like chocolate; not that other one (you don’t want to know what IT tastes like).
She came-to quickly, but was groggy for a while. My poor baby! I had tagged her forehead with my lipstick, like I always do before they wheel her away.
You already know about our appointment with the neurosurgeon and how we rejoiced over answered prayers. Wow… it still gives me chills. Thank you, Lord!
We came home to Tyler and met my family for a celebration dinner at Spring Creek where we prayed and thanked God for our food and for the blessings He always gives us, especially the blessings of this day.
And this little muffin, my niece Micah, sat across the booth from me.

What a great day.

Thank you again, Lord…
